Blackpool Fylde & Wyre

Weekday Wander

Thursday 9 July 2026 13:00 – 19:00

We'll be exploring a selection of Chorley's excellent pubs, all conveniently located within a short walk of the railway and bus stations. Our planned starting point is the Malt & Hops, with around five pubs on the itinerary throughout the afternoon.

One of the great things about these socials is their flexibility. We'll publish more detailed timings nearer the date so you can join us for the whole afternoon or simply meet up for a pub or two.

Chorley is easy to reach from our branch area, with direct trains from Blackpool North and convenient bus connections via Preston.

These events are all about enjoying great pubs, good beer, and great company. Whether you've been a CAMRA member for years or have never attended a branch event before, you'll be made very welcome.

Got a friend who enjoys pubs and real ale but isn't a CAMRA member? Bring them along too!

Update

Firstly, there is lots of great information in Central Lancs CAMRA's Chorley Ale Trail. You can find that online at https://centrallancs.camra.org.uk/dl.php?id=269733

Getting to Chorley is easy. Some of us will be catching the 12:25 train from Blackpool North, which stops at Layton, Poulton and Kirkham. The 125 bus between Preston and Chorley runs every 10 minutes from Preston Bus Station and takes just under an hour. Buses to Preston are available from across the Fylde, although, sadly, not Over Wyre.

We'll be meeting in the Malt and Hops. It's just by the platform where the train arrives from Blackpool and just over the road from the Bus Station. It's really easy to find. The plan is to meet there at about 13:10.

Our rough plan is to visit the Bob Inn, Flat Iron, Ronnie's Bar, Shepherd's Hall Ale House and finish in Inn The Dog House, which is next to the Bus Station and across the road from the Railway Station. But there are other options, if you wish.

We look forward to seeing you. Our socials officer Rick will be the one in the green CAMRA polo shirt!
