Pub Of The Season Spring 2019
The Steamer
The Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) recently presented it’s annual Pub of the Season (Summer) award to The Steamer, Queen’s Terrace, Fleetwood.
Presenting the award, Branch Chairman Rick Pickup commented that for the first time this award had been presented after asking the entire membership of the branch, around 2750 members, rather than just those who appeared at meetings. That had been a success with many more people voting. “It’s great to see a busy pub on a Thursday night” he commented, adding “It’s the sign of a great community pub and this is the first time I’ve presented an award being serenaded by a penny whistle” in reference to the Fleetwood Folk Club who were meeting in the back room.
Replying on behalf of the pub, Sheree Little said “We’ve only been running the pub for about a year so to be recognised for doing a good job is wonderful. However this award isn’t just for our staff, but it’s for all the locals that make this a vibrant pub.”
